Well-known industry leader appointed head of sales

UPL New Zealand has appointed Paul Dunn as head of sales, bringing more than three decades of industry experience to the business as it continues to build momentum across the NZ crop protection market.

Dunn joins UPL NZ following a long career with DuPont and FMC, where he held senior roles across NZ, the APAC region and global markets. His background spans commercial leadership, portfolio and lifecycle management, and product and relationship management at a global level.

Well known within the industry, the company says Dunn is regarded as a strategic and results driven leader with deep technical and commercial expertise. He has led cross cultural teams, delivered complex projects and driven strong outcomes for both customers and organisations across diverse markets.

In his role as head of sales, Dunn will lead UPL NZ’s sales team. He will also oversee the marketing function, reflecting his experience across portfolio strategy and lifecycle management. The combined role is aimed at strengthening alignment between sales and marketing to support growth across UPL’s key portfolios, including biosolutions and new product launches.

Sarah Dewes, country manager, says his appointment adds significant depth to the leadership team. “Paul brings an exceptional breadth of experience across local, regional and global crop protection markets. “His strategic approach, strong commercial capability and expertise in portfolio and lifecycle management will be a real asset to UPL NZ. “Aligning sales and marketing under Paul’s leadership will further support our growth ambitions and the value we deliver to customers.”

The move reflects UPL NZ’s continued focus on strengthening leadership capability to support growers and customers in an evolving and increasingly complex agricultural environment, she says.
